One of the greatest challenges of parents is to bring their children to God and transmit the joy and hope of faith. And, contrary to the values dictated by materialism, faith and trust in God is the best inheritance we can leave to our children. An art that requires coherence, hope, faith and effort, and to which Pope Francis referred with the following words: “How precious is the value of the family as a privileged place to transmit the faith!”. And the best gift we can give our children is to bring them closer to the Lord. There is no better mission for a family than teaching a child to pray. In the transmission of faith to children, we play a lot, not only the future of society or the Church, but the earthly happiness and eternal salvation of the children themselves.
But how can we transmit the faith to our children? The first thing that parents have to do is to live their faith in their daily lives, with coherence and works, since there is no better way to teach than with sincere example. A believing father communicates to God in everything he does. For this reason, it is essential that you always have a personal encounter with Christ, since you can not give what you do not have. Enjoy small meetings with God as a family, bless the table together, pray together at night, have some image of the Virgin at home … Faith has to do with the most everyday and the most transcendent.
